If you are a theme author and would like to allow your theme users to configure elements of your theme from the admin pages you will be grateful for the WordPress Theme Toolkit by Ozh.
I’ve integrated this excellent plugin into my Tiga theme and now some of the things that the Tiga theme user1 will be able to do are :-
- Easily modify the height of the header.
- Easily add background image to the header.
- You can now set the minimum and maximum page size to avoid your page from being stretched or squished to ridiculous values.
- Widths of left and right sidebars are now modifiable.
- Some color and font adjustments are also possible.

I was looking for a theme like this which allows few modifications from admin panel itself. This is the most user friendly theme I came accross.
As far as I think this is recently uploaded may be in few days, b’cause I never got it in December 2005.

I have installed your tiga theme (way cool!), but it doesn’t work, I have tried 3 times and still no go, I get the following error:
Warning: preg_grep(): Second argument to preg_grep() should be an array in /home/virtual/site20/fst/var/www/html/wp-content/themes/tiga/themetoolkit.php on line 39
I have installed it fine on my first blogg and it work perfect first time.
I have done anything different.
Any ideas, tips or directions?

Apparently theres a bug with the ‘WordPress theme toolkit’ that I’m using which will occur on a fresh install with no plugin activated.
There is an easy workaround for this. Just activate any plugin from the admin pages, even the ‘Hello Dolly’ plugin should make it work.
BTW, David, when are you launching wartznall, looks like it is still in beta

You’re right. I realised this was the problem and fixed it. I couldn’t remember where I’d posted the query. Otherwise I’d have come back and suggested the cure.
Wartznall is a secret. But, irritatingly, it’s in the ether already. It will go live second half of February, I’d guess.

I’ve done something wrong and it’s got me pulling out what little hair I have left!
I can get tiga to work on my notebook but when I load it on my site, www.noqualblog.com, the images no longer have a 3-d effect but are flat and the area for ‘about’, etc. is missing.
I’ve re-uploaded several times and it still looks the same. Also tried explorer, firefox and netscape. All the same.
Any ideas?

I’m getting the following error when I’m trying to access your sidebar image :-
Try uploading the images again.
BTW, I’ve just release a new version 1.0.1 that corrects some issues people are having with disappearing CSS styles in fresh installs. (make sure you clear your browser cache when you download in firefox otherwise you might still get the 1.0 version if you’ve recently downloaded) .
If you’re upgrading from previous versions of tiga , you need to do ‘Presentation->Tigarator’ and click on the ‘Delete Options’ button and then choose the Tiga theme as your main theme again to clear off some old database values.
The disappearing about menu is because I’ve made that the default behavior in version 1.0 and up. To enable it go to the Tigarator and click on the ‘Display pages as menu bar?’ checkbox.

I was running tiga 1.0 and tried everything you suggested, went to 1.0.1, back to 0.9.2 and nothing worked. Then I took a hard look at my ftp program which is supposed to autoload graphics in binary. It wasn’t doing that!
After I uploaded the images in binary it works great.
I have a couple of other questions now. When I try to edit themes in 1.0.1, I get a note:”
If this file were writable you could edit it.”
Permissions are set at 644 as they are in other versions. Why can’t I edit them?

I find that permissions set to 666 works best for me (I guess that’s why in UNIX circles it’s sometimes referred to as “The number of the best”).
Don’t take my word for it. Probably it’s better if you ask the WordPress support forum on this one.

First I want to say what and awesome Theme you have created and I want to use it for a number of Wordpress sites I am developing.
However I have a problem, I changed the colors of the Blag Title and I also changed the color of my adsense codes, then I changed the color of the sidebar backgrounds to the same green as the title but they do not change, if you refresh the page they show green briefly then back to the default blue? Can you help?
I found a strange problem. Although this doesn’t make your theme less awesome. It’s such a great theme, that’s why I gone through the trouble trying to find a fix for this.
Not sure if this has been covered by your other post. Did a search, nothing related to my problem returned.
k, the issue is if I change my permaLink option to anything other than default, reload the page, the page will just look like no style sheet at all.
Any thought on this?

What a great theme and site - now if I could just get my mind around it! I am trying to update an old site and turn it into a blog. I posted some old postings and am using tiga 1.01. The site looks good with netscape and firefox but the sidebars go funny in ie.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction here? My site is http://www.noqualifyingnocredit.com. All input graciously accepted. I don’t want to fine tune and update it anymore until I figure this out.

Well, I’m back with a different slant on it. I downloaded 1.0.2 and tried using it without modification. It looks the same now in firescape and explorer. The only problem, in both browsers I receive the following at the bottom of the left sidebar:
WordPress database error: [Unknown column ‘link_count’ in ‘where clause’]
SELECT cat_id, cat_name FROM wp_categories WHERE link_count > 0
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/noqualif/public_html/wp-content/themes/tiga1.0.2/sidebar.php on line 97
When I use other themes, this doesn’t happen. Anyone have any ideas?

Wow! Your theme is really amazing! Oh, and I did read (and listen to) some blogs on your homepage! I didn’t have to listen too much though, as you are right on target with your political awareness. Keep spreadin’ the news! I’ll send my boyfriend to your site. He’s like a walking political encyclopaedia. He’ll enjoy leaving a post from the man who made my life a lot easier. I just completed a free website for a healthfood store where I’m a board member. I love the colors you’ve chosen for your theme but for the store I would like more green…I tried to change your css style sheet but then remembered that you have the Tigarator. I also went in to change the hexidecimal colors there. The boarders seemed to change colors but not the background in the sidebar titles. Any ideas about what I need to fix?

I finally did figure out how to change the colors by making a new .png file for the sidebar widget titles and the header. I still want to know what magic you used to make your .png work with such a small picture.:)
